Dona Luna/Maya Moon
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (September, 1995)
Average review score:

A Great Bedtime StoryThis story is great to share with children at bedtime because it's about why the moon changes shape. Each night, kids can watch how the moon changes and talk about what Maya Moon is up to. In the story, Maya Moon keeps finding more and more turtles in her bed. This upsets her so much, she fianllly breaks into pieces. For school-age children, this story from Mexico introduces kids to Mayan culture and further discussions about the solar system, the moon and stars.

Down Buttermilk Lane

Average review score:

Down Buttermilk Lane - A Beautiful BookIf you enjoy giving your children beautifully illustrated books with delightful, entertaining and informative content, this is a wonderful addition to your child's library.
"Down Buttermilk Lane" is a great way to introduce your child to the Amish way of life. Through it's colorful pictures and colloquial writing, it transports you to Buttermilk Lane, a road that really exists.
My son loves riding in the car and leafing through the pictures as we pass Zimmerman's store, the Ebersol Chair Shop, and many beautiful farms in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
A beautiful book in every way.

Dynamic Processes of Crisis Negotiation

Average review score:

Dynamic Processes of Crisis NegotiayionsRecommended to me by Major Bob Beach, Director of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy in Virginia. Great book if you're interested in this field, or are already in it and want to hone your skills. At only 17, I feel this book will be very helpful to me in a future I hope consists of a career as an Alaska State Trooper. It may be a little heavy, but dig in and hang on for the long haul. GOOD LUCK!

The Emergence of Insurgency in El Salvador: Ideology and Political Will (Pitt Latin American Series)
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Pittsburgh Pr (Txt) (March, 1999)
Average review score:

A fascinating critique of scholarship on El SalvadorThis is a fascinating critique of how North American scholars have interpreted revolutionary movements in El Salvador and, by implication, neighboring Central American countries. The "dominant paradigm" is the idea that injustice + reactionary governments = revolution. Why have Latin America scholars lagged behind others in studying revolution in terms of culture, ideology and agency? Grenier's focus on the role of the Salvadoran universities and political-military organizations suggests an answer. The dominant paradigm removes the revolutionary vanguard from scrutiny. Not being a specialist on El Salvador, I hope to see Grenier's approach taken seriously and debated by other Central America scholars.
